It's been emotional.

This past couple of weeks I've been all over the shop. I upped and left a job I thought I'd love. Then my mum was diagnosed with cancer. I lived in my dressing gown for days and escaped to West Baltimore with The Wire.

I also listened to The Three EPs by The Beta Band, which I picked up in a charity shop in Penarth last month.

Idles vs Metronomy

Idles remix Metronomy and sound like 2007...

Like this is the most mid-2000s electro-indie-disco thing I've heard since I dug out the burned CDs I used to do Sam's Sonic Sandwich with on Radiowave.

I am not complaining.

Metronomy - Wedding Bells (IDLES 'Til Dev do us Party Remix) appears on Metronomy Forever Remixes, which appears to be an ongoing playlist rather than an EP or album as such. 

Aphex Twin Lesson

How do you pick a highlight from Aphex Twin's set at Printworks last month?

Part history lesson DJ set, part hardware throwdown live set, all smothered with Weirdcore's sublime glitch visuals, it's an absolute treat.

From hardcore rave bangers to Whitney Houston vocals, noise jams and Stone in Focus, Aphex offered a schooling in electronic music. Not much more to say apart from enjoy and check the tracklist under the video.
