Old Music For A New Decade From An Old Medium

No longer I walk in my own musicscape. As I've previously noted, my listening habits have altered. I've returned to CDs as I resolve.

A requested Christmas present, I would been floored if mother had bought this without instruction, ZE30: Ze Records Story 1979>2009 is pretty Ronseal.

Covering the lifespan of the hippest of NY labels, it's crammed with Ze's self-styled mutant-disco as well as related excursions in post-punk, electro-rockabilly and various scenes suffixed with "-wave".

A highlight comes in the straight-from-Studio-54-chug of Deputy Of Love. Polished yet a little ramshackle, just how it should be.
